iron door knocker is finished in a verdigris patina with a gilded wash.
Gargoyles, imps, and devils were first used as accents in architecture and to scare away evil spirits
in medieval times, mostly in cathedrals and castles.
Doorknocker
measures 14.5″ high x 8.75″ wide, and 3″ deep.  The
striker button measures 2″ deep and 1.75″ in diameter. 
Pre-drilled holes are 5″ apart for easy mounting.
This
will weather naturally if outside or, to retain original finish, simply
spray with a protective clear-coat before exposing to the elements.
